About Toto
Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also well-known studio players working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. The name comes from the Latin word meaning "all inclusive," the group was determined to explore every style of music.
Toto's third release, Turn Back, was an unfulfilling success in 1981. However they made amends with their fourth release, Isolation, which contained two songs that were hits, including the title song and Roseanna. The album and their tour made them a household brand all over the world.
After a short hiatus, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. It's a change from the ballads of their previous albums and also includes some heavy rock. This album was their first to go platinum in North America.

Joseph Williams, the son of John Williams, the legendary film composer and actress Barbara Ruick from 1950s, is now replacing Fergie Frederiksen as the lead vocalist. Joseph is a more natural frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a needed boost.
The band released Mindfields in 1999 and goes on a massive worldwide tour. After a few weeks in Europe The band then travels to Japan for sold-out shows. After a brief break, Toto resumes recording and begins recording their first live album titled Absolutely Live in 1993 which includes the cover of Weezer's track Hash Pipe in response to the band performing their hit song Africa during their recent tour.
